How Rank My Super compares like with like.

The methodology is designed to be public, repeatable and conservative. It does not produce personal financial advice or a recommendation to switch funds.

Data coverage notice: Current ranked comparisons include 193 APRA-backed MySuper/default option rows with complete comparable fields. The research inventory tracks 39 funds and 224 product/profile rows, including APRA-authorised products that are visible only as not-ranked coverage profiles until source or methodology mapping is complete. Platform/wrapper, Choice, ESG, direct-investment and pension searches are explanation-only in this release unless they map to an APRA-backed comparable MySuper/default row.
Standard option buckets

Marketing labels are not enough.

Fund labels like Balanced, Growth or Sustainable can mean different things across trustees. Rank My Super first classifies options into standard buckets and growth bands, then compares similar options.

Class ADefault

Representative MySuper/default products that can be compared under one single-strategy peer group.

Class BLifecycle

Age-based default products tracked separately until a representative cohort method is finalised.

Class CDiversified

Premixed multi-asset Choice options. Not production-ready in the current seed package.

Class DIndexed

Premixed index-tracking Choice options. Not production-ready in the current seed package.

Class ESustainable

Options applying environmental, social or governance screens. Not production-ready in the current seed package.

Class FSingle asset

Concentrated options such as Australian shares, bonds or cash. Not production-ready in the current seed package.

Class GDirect

Brokerage-style super platforms. Not production-ready in the current seed package.

Class HPension

Account-based pension and transition-to-retirement options. Not production-ready in the current seed package.

Core rule

Compare MySuper with MySuper, lifecycle stage with matching lifecycle stage, and similar growth bands with similar growth bands.

Rank My Super ranks APRA MySuper/default rows with comparable growth, fee and return metrics. Choice, ESG, direct-investment, pension and branded products may appear in search for context, but they are explanation-only unless a real product/option code, source date, fee and return record has been mapped to a like-for-like comparison set.
